Since 1967, Israeli education policies within municipal Jerusalem have been designed to rewrite Palestinian history and undermine Palestinian identity. These policies include imposing the Israeli curriculum and limiting the allocation of funds to Israeli-controlled schools, as well as interfering with private school policies. The education sector in the eastern side of occupied Jerusalem has been fragmented, and is characterized by multiple providers with little coordination and wide discrepancies in terms of the quality of education they provide.
