A Conversation on Wujood: The Grassroots Guide to Jerusalem

  • Apr 19, 2021
  • 1 min read

A virtual talk on colonialist structures in tourism and their impact on Palestinians in Jerusalem, and Wujood, the first political tourist guidebook to Jerusalem. We were happy to welcome the host of BET news and the Coffee and Books Podcast, Marc Lamont Hill in conversation with Fayrouz Sharqawi, our Global Mobilization Coordinator. The discussion was accompanied by testimonials from former NYC congressional candidate, Andom Ghebreghiorgis, and Ramah Awad, a member of the Palestinian Youth Movement. They spoke about their experiences as visitors in Jerusalem.

Really interesting discussion that highlights a perspective on Jerusalem many people may not have considered, and I appreciated hearing the personal experiences shared by the speakers. On a lighter note, when I want to unwind after reading thought-provoking topics like this, I usually play Subway Surfers since it's a fun and relaxing way to spend some free time.
